By Ted Schredd

This year I am going to live with no regrets. If you ask the people around you if they have any regrets you will probably invoke some deep thought and some uncomfortable answers. Chances are they you will probably not hear that they regret not working more hours in the week, or filling out some extra reports. People regret things like not taking a trip or asking someone to dance. People regret things because they missed out on a delightful jewel that life had offered up but they were distracted by the grind of day to day existence.

It is a good thing to discover your regrets. You can learn from your regrets. The next time the opportunity arises you can put aside your fears and say Yes! Say Yes to enjoying your life.   What is that you really want to do?

I saw a friend over the holidays that had the perfect response. "I am not going to die with some music still left inside of me". It made me ask myself, "What music is inside of me that needs to come out?" Each of us an individual has an instrument to play, to add to the symphony of life. Nobody can hear that music when you sit at home and watch TV.

Everyday the news is filled with people meeting an unfortunate fate. If it could happen to them it could happen to me too. I will savor every moment as if it is my last. I will ski more, laugh more and spend time with my family and friends. I will never pass up an opportunity to truly enjoy my life. What about you? Are you interested in living 2004 with no regrets?

What is that you want to do? Climb a mountain, see the ocean or go for a camel ride? Maybe you want to swim with dolphins, walk on fire or learn to inline skate. Take karate, learn to sing or play a musical instrument. Myself? I am going to conquer that damn unicycle I purchased (I am greater than the seat wheel and post).

You must be committed to living your life with no regrets. People make all kinds of resolutions to stop drinking, smoking, eating or to workout and go to the gym. Why not make a resolution to have more fun in 2004? To make a conscious decision to have more fun then you ever thought possible? That is my commitment. I am going to have the best year of my life. And nobody or no circumstance will stop me.

I don't know when I will die and most people don't. That is why, for me, I must live everyday with enthusiasm and if I happen to be sent to the next dimension I can leave this one with a big smile on my face. My resolution is to live with no regrets for 2004.
