What does love have to do with fun, you ask?
Ha! Let me tell you.
Imagine yourself on a spaceship where there’s
only you and a cute cocker spaniel… No
wait, that’s another story altogether…
Imagine yourself in love with someone who brings
out intense emotions from you. If you are experiencing
love, then you are at the whim of these emotions,
and they can be extreme. They closer you are
to your true feelings, the better able you are
to feel them fully.
Having recently been exposed to the mystical
phenomenon of love myself, I can tell you that
I laugh harder, play harder, relax more intensely
and have a lot more fun than in the pre-love
state. Not that love needs to be marketed any
better, but there’s my pitch.
Anyway, that’s all fine and dandy, but
if you’re not in love right now, what can
be done to secure some of this juicy joy? Well,
it’s really quite simple and it has nothing
to do with spaceships or cocker spaniels, thank
goodness.
How to secure some love
Step 1
Become lovable – Of course we’re
all lovable for a bunch of reasons, but I think
it’s important to become aware of what
makes you lovable. Ask your friends, or sit on
a mountain for a few days to get a feel for what’s
great about yourself. Then believe it.
Step 2
Enjoy life now – Find the path that gives
you pleasure and follow it. Develop a strong
sense of your own value in the world and you’re
better able to share that with someone.
Step 3
Don’t settle – As you go through
the various paths that give you pleasure, you
will meet many people, and you will give them
a chance to become close to you. If you have
to rationalize your involvement with that person,
it’s not love, it’s a convenience.
Love is not necessarily convenient. But it is
real, and you will know it when you’re
in it.
Step 4
Have fun – If the process of finding love
is not fun, then why bother? I think it’s
the most important thing in the world, but if
it wasn’t fun to discover, then it’s
probably not ever going to be fun. If you want
some ideas on how to have fun, you’ve come
to the right website. Explore it all.
Step 5
Talk to Ted – If all else fails, contact
Ted Schredd and he’ll set you up with some
love. Or at least a cocker spaniel…
Wouldn’t it be nice if everyone in the
world was in love? Imagine such a world. Just
a bunch of people wandering around all google
eyes, and giggling and what not. What could be
wrong with that? When we’re in love, we
tend to be less harsh to others and more sensitive
to everything. This old world could use a bit
more of that attitude.
So what are you waiting for? Go get some love
and save the world!
