Mothers Day fun

Fun Things to Do with your Mom

Thought we would include a few ideas for fun from the 500 Fun things to Do List. One way that people feel special is by being treated in a unique way. Sure we send flowers and take Moms out for dinner, but why not make something a little more memorable.

Our suggestion is to pick a few of these ideas to really make for a fascinating day. Moms give and give and give. So there is no reason that we can't give and give and give back to them.

1. Do a crayon drawing for your Mom and put it on their fridge. Regardless of your age, take a little time and no matter how good or bad your drawing is, your mother will love it. (They have to love your crayon drawings - it's in the contract)

2. Grab a piece of paper and make up a list of compliments about Mommy. Cut them into individual pieces of paper and put them in a hat. Throughout the day grab a compliment and read it out loud to her. (Works for a phone call if you are away from your Mom)

3. Send a video greeting card

4. Dress up in your best clothes and serve her, her favorite breakfast in bed

5. Go for a bike ride or try a tandem bike

6. Go horseback riding

7. Get some important people in your life to phone your mother and thank her for raising such a wonderful person(you).

8. Write some poetry and read it out loud at the dinner table

9. Start a photo scrapbook of some of oyur favorite Mom moments

10. Make a trophy or certificate to represent your appreciation of your mother

11. Rent a limo and driver for the day

12. Give her $100 to spend in a shopping mall in 10 minutes

13. Hire a masseuse or two

14. Go to the most expensive restaurant in town

15. Go for a helicopter ride

15. Rent a Ferrari for a day

16. Make a documentary video about the family

17. Go for a walk together and ask her about her favorite "Mother" moments

18. Get as many family members together in one place

19. Play hooky from work (if you have to work on Mother's Day) so that you can be with her.

20. Buy her the craziest, most comfortable slippers you can find

21. Go to your mom's house when she is not there; and clean it

24. Throw a mothers day family party!

Bonus Mama's Day Fun Tip #1

Before Mothers Day you will need to ask a few questions. Ask her how she knows when she is most appreciated. Is it flowers? Is it the spoken word? Is it when she is taken out for dinner? Is it your company?

Tip #2 Fun For Mothers day

Instead of just flowers - arrange for a singing flower delivery. Instead of just dinner, take her to the restaurant in a limo. It doesn't have to be expensive, just try to be thoughtful in as many different ways as you can. There is absolutely no reason why you can't ramp up the level of appreciation that you express for your Mom.

Tip #3

No matter what you do as a gesture of kindness, nothing can compare with you telling Mom how much you appreciate her in your own voice and your own words. If you have difficulty with words, make a scrap book, write a letter or build a photo journal. Popular surveys show Moms love this technique.

Tip # 4

Ask her some engaging questions while you are visiting with her. What were some of your favorite moments? What are some of your regrets? What do you still want to do with your life?

Tip # 5

Plan a fun activity in the midst of all your appreciation. There is no finer way to bond with someone than to go and have some fun!
